Communications

The Rutland Composite Squadron is looking for communicators, both cadets and senior members, to operate our radios.

Missions

• Set up and operate radios during search and rescue missions
  • Aircraft
  • Ground teams
    • Ground vehicles
    • On foot
  • Headquarters and command posts
• Local and nationwide communications when regular commercial communications are interrupted
• Occasionally support federal agencies with radio communications
• Participate in Air Force and Department of Defense communications exercises

Equipment

• Fixed and portable high frequency radios for long distance
• Fixed, mobile, airborne, and handheld VHF radios for short and medium distance
